Dior in Omotesando, Tokyo

The Dior building in Omotesando, Tokyo was built by architects SANAA. Its main feature is its walls, made of a clean, square, outer skin of clear glass that covers a second skin inside, of translucent acrylic. It draws the famous “Cannage”, taken from the canes of the chairs that were used in Mr Dior’s fashion shows.

On top of it is a star, a lucky charm dear to Mr Dior (it is said he found one outside in the street the day before Marcel Boussac agreed to fund his fashion house).
